Class Description:

Counterfeit documents. Ink and paper analysis. Crime scene techniques. ASCLD accreditation of a document laboratory. William Flynn, Affiliated Forensic Laboratory, Inc., Phoenix, AZ Computer Generated Documents Gerald Richards, Richards Forensic Services; Laurel, MD Application of IR and UV to Questioned Document Examinations Foster and Freeman Limited, Worcestershire, UK (Tentative) Video Spectral Comparator - ESDA
Teaching Methods: 
Lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and practical exercises.
Objectives: 
To gain familiarity with principles and systematic practices used for specific questioned document examination techniques.
Prerequisites: 
This class is limited to qualified questioned document examiners. Two years experience in a recognized QD examination program and membership in appropriately recognized QD associations.
Materials Fee: 
Approximately $45.00 will be charged to all non-BFS students. This charge is due at the beginning of the class. Make check(s) payable to the California Department of Justice.
Tuition: 
No cost to POST supported or State of California based Law Enforcement agencies. A $480.00 tuition fee will be required of all other public agency, private sector, or out-of-state applicants.
