Attorney General Lockyer Issues Statement on the Arson Attacks on Sacramento Area Synagogues

(Sacramento)-- Attorney General Bill Lockyer today issued the following statement regarding the apparent arson of three Sacramento-area synagogues this morning:

"This morning's cowardly arson attacks on three sacred places of worship represents despicable hate violence. The individuals who committed these criminal acts must be brought to justice swiftly. My heart goes out to the members of the Jewish community, and the people of Sacramento, who have all been victimized by this morning's arson attacks. I have directed my law enforcement division to provide all necessary assistance to federal and local law enforcement agencies in this hate crime investigation."
