Charity Renewal Filings for Registrants Reporting Under $25,001 Gross Annual Revenue

To expedite online renewal for small charities, the Registry is providing the below contact form which may be used by registrants who are:

Registrants may attach and submit signed and scanned PDFs (Tip: Creating a PDF File) of required forms and attachments including Form RRF-1, Form CT-TR-1, and, if filed with the IRS, IRS Form 990(-EZ/PF). Registrants submitting IRS Form 990(-EZ/PF) do not also need to submit Form CT-TR-1.

For details and FAQs regarding required documents, see the Annual Registration Renewal and the Online Renewal System Checklist pages for guidance. Then return to this page when all documents are ready to be uploaded and submitted.

For registrants NOT meeting both of the above requirements, please DO NOT use this contact form. Instead, please either mail all required documents to the address listed on the forms or check the Maintenance page periodically to see if the Online Renewal System is available or will be available soon.

If you aren’t sure of your State Charity Registration Number, SOS Corporate Number and or IRS FEIN, if we have them on file they will be included in a downloadable CSV file that includes registrants that may operate/solicit in California (Download CSV File; also available on the Registry Reports page).

  • Before attaching any PDFs, be sure all confidential documents are separated into their own PDF file. Do not upload a PDF that contains both public and confidential documents.
  • Remove any password protection from your PDFs. Password protected PDFs will be rejected.
  • Click Choose File and select the PDF file you wish to send – file must be 5MB or less (Tip: Reducing PDF File Size).
  • Click Upload.
  • Click Submit after all fields above are filled in and attachment uploaded.
