Disability Rights Advisory Committee (DRAC)

The Disability Rights Advisory Committee (DRAC) is established pursuant to the requirements of California Government Code Section 19795(b). DRAC is comprised only of DOJ employees; yet, is subject to public meeting requirements and comments by members of the public. DRAC assists DOJ in their efforts to enhance employment and promotional opportunities, as well as equal treatment and physical and programmatic access for persons with disabilities.

Purpose

DRAC provides opportunities to share ideas, collaborate with fellow members and colleagues, and advocate for DOJ employees with disabilities. In addition, DRAC:

  • Promotes disability employment awareness, cultural sensitivity, and inclusion, highlighting the benefits of employing people with disabilities.
  • Provides suggestions and feedback related to DOJ’s initiatives aimed at enhancing recruitment, retention, and upward mobility opportunities.
  • Identifies and suggests ways to remove barriers that prevent people with disabilities from having equal access and opportunities in the workplace.
